What is Savings Autopilot? How can I disable, pause or increase savings?

Last Updated: Dec 05, 2016 10:54PM UTC

Savings Autopilot is a feature designed to help you reach your financial goals, without stress or worry. Savings Autopilot aims to ensure that you are saving the right amount each month to reach your stated financial goals, and automatically funds your investments so that you are consistently saving for your future. With Savings Autopilot, you can focus on what matters most in your life and let Savings Autopilot make sure your money is working for you.

Savings Autopilot recommendations are based on academic research, and the successful best practices from retirement plans around the country. The service helps you get started saving with small contributions toward your goals, then gradually elevates your savings rate in a way that fits your lifestyle while keeping you on track for your goals.

When activated, Savings Autopilot keeps track of your accounts to see how much you have available to save, and ensures that you don’t put more money towards your future than you have to spare right now.

You can make updates to your Savings Autopilot savings path and current savings rate, or de-activate the Autopilot program within your app, by going to the Goals dashboard in the Advisor app and pressing the ‘Adjust Savings Autopilot’ message bubble.
